Senior Engineer Technician - Wind Turbine Field Experience

Summary

We are seeking an experienced Senior Engineer Technician with wind turbine field experience to join our team. The ideal candidate will have extensive knowledge of wind turbine manufacturing processes, equipment, and field operations. Additionally, experience in process optimization, root cause analysis, and continuous improvement is required. The candidate should be able to work independently and collaboratively with cross-functional teams to improve product quality and reduce costs.

Responsibilities

Analyze and improve wind turbine manufacturing processes to increase efficiency, reduce costs, and improve product quality
Conduct root cause analysis and troubleshoot process issues to identify and implement effective solutions
Develop and implement process improvements, including design changes, equipment modifications, and process control enhancements
Perform time studies and cycle time analysis to optimize manufacturing processes
Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including production, quality, and R&D, to drive continuous improvement
Provide technical support for production issues and process changes
Ensure compliance with environmental, health, and safety (EHS) regulations
Prepare and maintain process documentation, including work instructions, process flow diagrams, and control plans
Participate in new product development and launch activities
Utilize Wind Turbine field experience to troubleshoot and optimize field operations
Interface with Wind Turbine field teams to provide technical guidance and support on repairs and maintenance

Required Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in engineering, materials science, or a related field
At least 3-5 years of experience in a process engineering or manufacturing role in the wind industry with wind turbine field experience
Strong knowledge of wind turbine manufacturing processes, equipment, and field operations
Experience in process optimization, root cause analysis, and continuous improvement
Familiarity with Lean Six Sigma methodologies
Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work independently and collaboratively with cross-functional teams
Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to work effectively in a team environment
Basic knowledge of environmental, health, and safety (EHS) regulations

Desired Qualifications

Previous relevant experience, preferably in the wind industry, but candidates with translatable experience are encouraged to apply
Experience with structural testing, strain measurement, design of experiments, material selection, and statistical characterization
