Highlights of this years 2023 IPF were numerous, with a record breaking turnout from global stakeholders. All credit to Liz Burdock and her amazing team at Business Network for Offshore Wind for a superbly curated event. Gulf Wind Technology’s CEO, James Martin enjoyed engaging with his co-panelists for the Gulf of Mexico workgroup, Sarah Courbis, Idrissa Idrissa Boube, Dave Karpinski, Dianna Phu, and Lacy McManus for: Gulf of Mexico: ‘Uniquely Positioned for Offshore Wind Success’ and Tim Fischer, Aaron Smith, Brandon W. Burke, and Tayebeh TajalliBakhsh, PhD for Floating Wind: ‘US Site Conditions and how industry is solving them’. A world class Plenary from Maryland Gov. Wes Moore led to rich discussions on both supply chain and IRA tailwinds for the industry.
The takeaway message from 2023 IPF for GWT is that focus on health and safety, workforce development, healthy supply chain ramping, and demonstration of risk reducing innovations are critical for this mighty market. All part of the ‘Shell Gulf Wind Technology Accelerator‘ program GWT are leading here in the region.
Next year 2024 IPF is being held in New Orleans and we’re very much looking forward to welcoming the industry to our home.
